Joint Maximum Likelihood Detection in Far User of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access
نویسندگان
چکیده
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) enables multiple mobile devices to share the same frequency band. In a conventional NOMA scheme, the receiver of a far user detects its desired signal without canceling the signal for a near user. However, the signal for the near user acts as interference and degrades the accuracy of likelihood values for the far user. In this paper, a joint maximum likelihood detection scheme for the far user of the NOMA downlink is proposed. The proposed scheme takes the interference signal into account in calculating the likelihood values. Numerical results obtained through computer simulation show that the proposed scheme improves the performance by from 0.2 dB to 3.1 dB for power allocation coefficients of 0.2 to 0.4 at a bit error rate (BER) of 10−2 relative to the conventional scheme. key words: non-orthogonal multiple access, joint maximum likelihood detection, successive interference cancelation

Throughput Performance of Joint Detection in Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access Schemes
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) makes multiple mobile users share the same frequency band. In a conventional NOMA scheme, a user pair that can be assigned to the same frequency resource is limited, which reduces the amount of capacity improvement possible. This is because a far user demodulates a signal without canceling an underlaid signal for a near user. In addition, semi-orthogonalmul...

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) can share the same frequency band with multiple mobile devices. In the conventional NOMA scheme, the possible pairs of users are limited and this limitation restricts the amount of capacity improvement. This is because the receiver only for the near user cancels the signal of the other user and then detect the desired signal. In this paper, the effect of jo...

Successive user detection algorithm is used to observe the multi user ranging signals and calculate there corresponding parameters. Using IEEE 802.16 specification in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), initial ranging method designed an algorithm called Moment Maximum Likelihood Detection (MMLD) to detect the codes assigned and predicting offset timing. The objective functio...
متن کاملA Novel Multi-user Detection Approach on Fluctuations of Autocorrelation Estimators in Non-Cooperative Communication
Recently, blind multi-user detection has become an important topic in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. Direct-Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) signals are well-known due to their low probability of detection, and secure communication. In this article, the problem of blind multi-user detection is studied in variable processing gain direct-sequence code division multiple access (VPG D...
متن کاملOn-Off Random Access Channels: A Compressed Sensing Framework
This paper considers a simple on–off random multiple access channel, where n users communicate simultaneously to a single receiver over m degrees of freedom. Each user transmits with probability λ, where typically λn < m ≪ n, and the receiver must detect which users transmitted. We show that when the codebook has i.i.d. Gaussian entries, detecting which users transmitted is mathematically equiv...
